The One Where He Didn't Call

So I haven't been around for a day or two and I may take a little break for a few days more. I got some really bad news last night that is yet unconfirmed but probable...David isn't graduating from Basic Training on time. He called late last night and said he had to shave a minute off of his two mile run or he wasn't graduating on Friday. I was supposed to leave in the morning for his graduation. We were going to get to spend all day Thursday with him. I already had the hotel and rental car reserved. He said he'd call today if he passed and if he didn't call, I shouldn't come.

He didn't call. :(

What this means for us is that he'll stay and go to a special place where the people who can't pass their PT tests go. It has a real name but they call it fat camp. He'll stay there and do PT 4x a day until he can pass the test. When he can pass the test, he'll just leave and go straight to AIT. No graduation ceremony, no family day, nada. He'll go straight from Ft. Knox to Ft. Leonard Wood and we won't get to see him in until December-ish.

I'm just devastated.

It's been a long 3 months and to think it will be 3 more without this little island of hope just totally gets to me. I understand that 6, or 8, or 12 months down the road, he may end up being deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan and that we'll be in this boat again. He could be gone for way longer than right now. I get that. But at this precise moment, the kids are just SO small and I had hoped to see him without having to go six months.

Parker was 7 weeks old when he left. I'd give anything for them to be able to see each other. And don't even get me started on Naomi. The 10 hours we were supposed to be able to see him on Thursday I had already resigned to letting her steal the show. She and her Papa are like *this*.

I can't mope around forever about this, but right now I'm too bummed to care about anything but surviving the week.

The One With Strange Computer Woes...

Leave it to me to do strange things to my computer! I have managed to somehow break the scrolling function of my laptop...it's not that it won't scroll...it's that it won't STOP scrolling! Weird, eh? It looks like I'm going to have to backup for the next few days and then reinstall Windows Vista by appointment in two nights. I'm not looking forward to doing all of that, but at least I'll have all of my stuff backed up! On that note...GO BACK UP your stuff right now! ;) I've been meaning to get Mozy and maybe if I had, I wouldn't have all this to do right now! On the up side...I got to speak to a wonderful technician who was so helpful, professional and entertaining. If you have to be on the phone with a stranger for an hour and a half, it may as well be a pleasant experience!

I'm working so hard on getting my pregnancy albums caught up and I only have about 10 layouts left to do...then to sign over my firstborn to Shutterfly in order to get my printing caught up :)

I hope you are having a wonderful weekend, bloggers...sharing just one layout this evening!

The One With The Sneak Peeks!

well...sort of ;)

I'm gonna go ahead and show you a few layouts I've done this week with products that are coming out on Saturday at Sweet Shoppe! The tattered cardstock is by Libby Weifenbach and the kit on the second page is by Libby and Traci Murphy! Both were a lot of fun to work with! The first page is my "labor" page from Nathan's pregnancy...working so hard on getting his and Naomi's pages caught up to Parker's! The second page is just a photo of me and Nathan from the park last weekend.

Anywhoo, I am working diligently on my backlog of pregnancy pages (ahem, *coughcough* quickpages *coughcough*) so I'm going to scoot off here for tonight. The new 'do will have to be shared tomorrow because all of the shots I have on my camer look like mug shots ;)

The One With The Busy Weekend Planned!

David graduates from Basic Training next week so we are brimming with excitement right now! I have a busy long weekend planned....of scrapping. I'm trying to stay offline as much as possible between now and Monday and working on my backlog of layouts from Nathan's and Naomi's pregnancies so that I can order a compiled pregnancies album with my Shutterfly coupon before it expires on Monday. It's a project I'm really excited about. I ordered some calendars last week and a 50 page book on Saturday...and guess what? My book is already here and looks great! I'm so excited! That was my 6th volume printed and I get giddy every time I see my stuff in print.

I got a new 'do today and can't wait to share it with you so look for that soon (move over Victoria Beckham, there's a new pixie in town! ;) )

And...someone told me today that my blog song made them sad. *GASP!* I definitely don't want that, so I'll be getting around to changing that very soon too! No need in making my readers sad. Bored maybe, but never sad :P

On the family scene...my sister is pregnant and I'm thrilled for her! Being an aunt is the best thing ever! Congrats Tabatha!

And that's really all that's new around here...I'll chat with you tomorrow my friends!

The One With The Printing Dilemma

And here's the dilemma...I scrap so much it's hard to keep up with the printing! LOL! While I'm sitting here trying to decide what to put in my latest Shutterfly album, here are a few of my most recent layouts:

And that's all I really have to share for the day! My children apparently don't need to sleep anymore so that's another dilemma in and of itself. I must go sleep while I can because between the two of them, they aren't allowing a whole lot of that nowadays! ;)

The One Where We Talk About Crayons

First of all...ONLY Crayola will do. All other crayons are crap. That's all I have to say on that matter...and second of all....the quiz at Crayola.com kicked my butt! I wandered over there from the Sweet Shoppe's FOBTY...While I did name all 64 colors, I had 21 mistakes. I had like 8 mistakes going into the "kids' choice" section but I didn't guess a single one of those right! What is this "kids' choice" they speak of? That's DUMB! And there should never EVER be more than 64 crayons in a box. Having a box of those with a sharpener in the back is all you needed growing up...and you were practically royalty for having that. I honestly was good with 24 or 48...Now I see 96 and more? Yikes!

The One With A Wreck Of A Post

Hiya bloggers! My first order of business today is to share with you our most recent playground photo shoot! Parker wasn't digging the sunshine so I don't have any shots of him (plus he was on my shoulder for most of the photographing). But, I did get these great action shots of Nathan (love how they turned out!) and I got a few of them together...Naomi loved being pushed in the swing! I was so happy to get one photo of her looking at the camera, since that's a challenge in and of itself lately!

It was wonderful enjoying the fall-ish weather and just watching the kids have fun! We get to go see David graduate from Basic training in a week and half, so anything to pass the time right now! :)

And about the wreck. Cakewreck, that is. Over on my blogroll you'll find Cakewrecks...I love that blog and I have to tell you....the cake we had made for David's Boot Camp sendoff party was featured on their blog today! I was totally geeking out about it, and giggling again at our funny cake....go check it out!

Our Silly Cake

And that's all from me tonight bloggers....My wonderful MIL is taking the kids for a few hours tomorrow...so off to bed for me so that I'm not too tired to enjoy my free time! ;)

The One With The Heavenly Candy

If you like coffee flavored candy...you'll so love the M-n-M's Premium Mocha candies. They are so yummy though a tad pricey. I recommend!

I bought a tandem stroller today...a Graco DuoGlider...and can't wait to try it out tomorrow! It is SO a necessity for those with 2 under 2! I also got David's professional military portrait in the mailtoday...I'll try and scan it tomorrow to show you! I'm off to bed right now though because I am SO tired! I hope you have a great day!

The One With The Golden Children

So I took the kids out during the "golden hour" tonight to try and grab some photos...got a few of Naomi but just one of Parker because he was a tad bit grumpy :)

And my sweet boy smiling...
That's all from me today...I'm wiped! Have a fantastic day!

The One With The Smelliest Blog On The Blog

...but in a good way!

I wanted to share this little yummy project with you, bloggers! I love the smell of coffee, and after visiting a girlfriend who had these on her counter, I had to put my own twist on it!

It's a super cheap project...I spent $1.98 on 2 hurricane jars, 67 cents on 2 votive candles and $4 for a small bag of french vanilla whole bean coffee. Putting it together is pretty self-explanatory and it smells SO yummy! I have half a bag of coffee left to rotate out the beans after they start to lose their scent. It would also make a super cheap and sweet gift!

That's all from me for today, I've got a wiggly Parker in my arms. TTFN!
