The One With The Braids

I finally decided to see if Naomi would have the patience for me to braid her hair, and she did. I think it turned out really cute! I did this on Sunday and later on that night after her bath I french braided it for her to sleep in...that was adorable too! Having a girl can be so much fun!

I'm bummed because I don't get to watch The Biggest Loser tonight. My cable company is having a falling out with NBC and right now they don't carry the network! For some odd reason it doesn't pick up with rabbit ears either (all the others do, just not NBC). It's very frustrating! I hope they fix it soon but in the meantime, no TBL for me. Boo and hiss to Time Warner Cable!

There's really no news to report here, bloggers. David takes another PT test tomorrow. On his last one, he was down to being only 20 seconds over on his 2 mile run. This *could* be his last PT test of Basic if he can just shave off that last 20 seconds. He has consistently shorted his time EVERY time so let's hope this is it. The last time he shaved off 17 seconds. *crosses fingers* When he passes he moves on to AIT and we have abotu 8 weeks before being reunited at that point.

Have a great day :)

The One Where We've Come Full Circle

So I was pulling out fall clothes since there's a nip in the air, and I was able to find exactly one outfit that fit Naomi from last year. Now that was one outfit more than I figured, so we were already ahead. But since it did fit, I figured I'd take some comparative photos!

A combination of the outfit being a bit big when I bought it last year and Naomi just being a petite girl made it possible! Here's a little overview:

Here were a couple of last year's photos. I actually like them a bit better...the lighting was better, but it's okay! I posted them on my blog last year so if you've known me a while, you could possibly remember them :)

And here she is this year! The only thing different is the hairbows and the shoes. (of course her feet grew a whole bunch, LOL, and who can hang on to two hairbows for a whole year!)

Of course I snagged a few photos of Nathan and Parker, too :) I really love this one of the two of them!

I have raised two very photogenic children! It's a good thing they love the camera!

And this photo is the funniest thing ever! Everything in the mouth :) So that was our photo shoot...tomorrow we are carving that pumpkin, so maybe I can share pictures of that! I hope you are having a great weekend :)

The One With A Mother's Wish

I think there comes a time in every mother's life when the thing that would make her happier than anything else in the world.....

would be a full-night's sleep.

That's all, I'm just a wee bit worn down...though I am working on it. Going to bed right when the kids do helps, but that's not a realistic expectation for every night...more like once or twice a week, kwim? Parker sleeps from 9-4 generally, but then he's up at 4, 6, 7, etc...it's somewhat unpredictable, but it's more like he's taking little naps after his 'big sleep'. As he is pushing 5 months old I'm hoping it will start stretching just a wee bit longer. If that were my only concern I'd be fine, but Naomi wakes up a lot too. She is just fussy and whiney and never has slept all that well. She's always been a really light sleeper like me.

Anyway, caught this picture of them in their jammies the other morning after they woke up...wanted to share...I can't believe how alike they are sometimes! :p

The One About Excitement, Disappointment, and Tolerance

It's been a crazy week, bloggers. I wanted to show you some pictures of some really cute fall clothes I got the kids yesterday! I even took the pictures of them...but I don't have the energy to look for my camera cord this morning :P

I've been very thoughtful this week, and I feel like I'm holding up pretty well through a lot of ups and downs. I thought I was buying a car this week, and then at the last minute the buyer backed out. I took that in stride. We don't have a vehicle and I've been walking everywhere for 6 weeks now. I will need to get one within the next two weeks because it's going to begin to get too cold. But that's okay, I will for sure make that happen. I have the money and the right seller will come along. It's just disappointing to have it fall through.

I thought for a moment that we were going to go see David today, and that fell through as well. This is the kind of disappointment I will have to learn to deal with as a military wife...but it still doesn't make it any easier. He is really struggling to shave off the last few SECONDS of his two mile run and he's really depressed, making it even harder.

An online friend of mine became an easy target recently when the local news station did a story about her weight loss using the Wii Fit. she's done fantastic! But she was flamed left and right on the news station's website for having "too many" children. Really? I mean seriously, is this what people do with their spare time? I'm disenchanted with the lack of tolerance. It just disappoints me that people would be so ugly.

So it's not been a bad week necessarily, just a disappointing one. I'll tell you the most interesing part though...when i am stressed i have nightmares. I had a nightmare last night that Naomi died. Can you imagine my elation to wake up and see her sleeping next to me?

Readers, I'm reminding you to be thankful. If your husband comes home from work tongiht, be thankful that he is there for you to hug hello. If you have a car to get in and run your errands, be thankful for that! I don't have those things at the moment but I will again soon and I'll surely be glad for them! For the moment, though, I'm just so thankful for what I do have, which is three beautiful children to love on and a hubby that loves me from many miles away :)

The One with FOBTY 9/18

Another From Our Blog To Yours...and oh my....this is funny! Yeah, I'd love to live forever and I'm a night person...but man I love garlic. ;)

You Could Be a Vampire... If You Had To

Like most people, the thought of being a vampire has crossed your mind. But you're not sure if you'd do it, even if you could.

Living forever doesn't sound half bad, if you could live forever with the people you love the most.

But do vampires even love? And would the vampire version of you even be you?

It's all too much to contemplate. Luckily, the chances of you ever becoming a vampire are astronomically low.

What you would like best about being a vampire: Living forever

What you would like least about being a vampire: Blood stained teeth

Could You Be a Vampire?

The One With FOBTY 9/11

So I'm trying to get some last minute sweet rewards' points and I need to go back and do a few From Our Blog to Yours posts!

Here was the test for 9/11...about being real....I feel like I'm pretty real but there are some things you just don't share with the online world :D

You Are 80% Real

You know who you are, and you're pretty darn comfortable with yourself.

Like everyone, you struggle with the parts of yourself that aren't so great...

But you're good at accepting who you are and not dwelling on your faults.

As a result, you're confident, optimistic, and very real.

How Real Are You?

The One With The Kind Words For You

They offered a pretty neat challenge over at Sweet Shoppe recently...to go through your gallery and look at the nice titles and journaling you make for your children....they are "sweet" and "gorgeous" and "priceless"....but when you make a page about yourself, it's usually titled "just me" or something like that. So the challenge was to scrap yourself through the same lens you scrap your children. I'll admit, I felt a tiny bit silly titling a page about me so cutesie but I'm happy with the page! David has been bugging me to send more pictures of me so I'm going to print this layout in miniature and ship it off to him. It will make him smile. I think this one will make him smile too. Nothing like a sweet little newbie. :)

Life's busy the last few days and still is...so I'm outta here to start my day! Have a great one!

The One With The Free Desktop!

So.....my first designer to come out with a Halloween kit this year was Libby Weifenbach and she hit one out of the park! She made this adorable kit, Ghouls Just Wanna Have Fun and it came out yesterday at SSD. I hadn't had time to scrap with it yet and she asked if anyone could make an October desktop freebie for her and I whipped this up!
If you'd like to have it, you gotta stop by HER BLOG though....and check out her new Halloweeny decorations! ;)

I've done lots of scrappy stuff over the last 3 years but this was my first desktop calendar freebie so I hope you like it!

Well I hope you have a great Sunday, bloggers...it's gonna be a scrappy day here! :)

The One With Naomi's Book

It was finally time to do the dreaded task...take away Naomi's binkies. I planned originally on letting her have them until her second birthday which is in a few weeks. Then I thought I may let her keep them through the transition without Papa...so until December or so...but then I discovered two of them with BIG gaping holes where she was chewing them. So it was sayonara soother! I wrote her this social story book to help her through the transition. We've been 3 nights and 2 days without it now and there was a point at 6 a.m. this morning where she didn't want to go back to bed without one but she did.

Here is the cover of the finished product. There is cardstock glued to the back of the 4x6 photos and they are laminated...she has been reading it a bunch so I wanted it to be sturdy

Here is the digital file of all 8 pages of the story!
Photobucket

So that's all from me for now bloggers...hope you have a great day!

The One With A Lot of Layouts!

And that's not all! I did quite a few more the last few days but I'll save those for tomorrow!

It's been a busy week! I backed up my entire computer, reloaded Vista, and downloaded some software to solve my mouse problem...I went and exchanged my cell phone for a new one because my old one wasn't charging properly..and it was still under warranty, yay!

The weather has been fantastic so I've been taking the kids for walks even though I'd rather stay in my jammies all day, LOL ;) When I make myself get out I feel better :)

So that's really all that's new from me...I haven't heard from David since Saturday but that's nothing unusual...so I have no news on his PT test yet. I'm fee

I'm expecting my 3 pregnancy albums to be delivered by UPS tomorrow (it says tomorrow, yay!) and that will make 11 books I have printed with Shutterfly! I am completely caught up with my printing! I'm working on a few projects right now so if I'm scarce, that's why :) I hope you are having a great week!
