The One Where Nathan Turns 8!

It was almost exactly 8 years ago to the minute that I tapped Chuck (my first husband) on the shoulder and told him "it's time". We went to the hospital. I was 39 weeks pregnant with my very first child and I was only 20, myself. They kept me because of my blood pressure and induced me. Nathan was born at 10:46 the next night by c-section.

I love him so much. Tomorrow he'll be eight, but he'll always be my baby.

The One Where I Am A Scrappin' Fool!

So the bug caught me and I've been scrapping a lot today! During all of the kids' nap and for the last few hours since they've been down for the night. I did 3 others, too...but I can't show them to you because they are using new releases coming to SSD on Saturday! I have just been inspired lately which is good, because I took about 500 photos in August! That's all from me for today, bloggers...hope you are having a great week :)

The One With The Rough Day

I had one of those days...you know the ones when you wish your kids weren't little? I love having small babies but some days I get tired of having one on the hip and one on the other hip, LOL! I think it is expected to have days like this...no one has all great days at their job. Naomi felt it was her job today to follow me around and undo everything I did. So, I decided to scrap her tonight...to see her smiling face in 2D after she had already zonked out for the night...a sweet little girl who is smart and, well....into everything! :)

The One With The Really Cool Kid

I'll tell you...my Nathan is like the coolest kid ever...I had the best time at his open house this evening. It was wonderful watching him meet his teachers. It was so awesome watching him introduce himself to his related arts teachers and choose his desk (3rd grade is the best!). It makes me sniffle a little because he was so grown-up! A brand new school and he didn't bat an eyelash!

I did two layouts of him tonight but one of them is using a new release that doesn't come out until Saturday so you'll have to wait for that one...it's the cutest darned fall kit I have EVER seen though!

But I did this one of the goofball...enjoy your little ones because you blink and they are in 3rd grade! I'm gonna go snuggle my small ones :)

The One Where I'm Just Here

So Nathan has Open House tomorrow and then school is back in session. It really seems like summer just started! I can't wait to meet his teacher and see him get ready for this year...he loves school and it thrills me he still does! I hope he doesn't ever dislike school like some kids!

I have made an unexpected move and am back in Ohio until December when David gets stationed. I'm looking forward to the autumn in Ohio and spending lots of time with Nathan before we move away!

But between the move, a crabby Naomi, missing David, and other stressors, I feel like I'm just going through the motions the last few days! I'm sure you've been there before. I'll be glad when I snap out of this fog and feel like myself again :)

I did manage this layout tonight though it felt a bit forced. I like the end result though :)

The One With The Layout That Makes Me Blush

LOL! I don't really like scrapping pictures of myself anyway, but especially a picture of me kissing! One day my kids will enjoy these books and they don't want to see their mom kiss their dad! But....I do really love this picture from my wedding day. And this quote is so perfect, I had to scrap it with this kit, Apple of My Eye, from Julie Billingsley at Sweet Shoppe! All of my designers have the greatest things this week but I am out of time! I must take the weekend off and get caught up with family stuff!

The One With The Beach Photos

First of all, a woman should never try to take a 2 month old, a 1 year old, and a 7 year old to the beach by herself. Nathan wanted in the water, I couldn't go with him because I was holding both smaller children. Naomi was scared because the ground was moving beneath her (that's what it feels like when you are standing in the ankle deep water, kwim?). Nathan was mad because I wouldn't let him go in past his knees. Parker was pretty oblivious to it all. I ws tired from walking through the sand with Naomi on one hip and Parker's carrier in my other hand. But alas, here was our last day of vacation, at Clearwater Beach. All in all it turned out pretty fun.

The One With A Public Apology

..................sigh..........................

You ever just feel like ick on a stick, bloggers? Well I do. So I'm cutting out the processed foods and refined sugars for a week. And I picked up some vitamins. We'll see if it helps. I went to the store today and bought a case of water, some decaf green tea, chicken breasts, red potatoes and a TON of fresh fruits and veggies. And that's all I'm going to eat for a week. Seriously, that's it. Oh, and some calcium chews since I am going dairy free too. I normally don't do extreme stuff but I love all of the foods I listed, I don't bore easily with meals (ate pbj and an apple every day for lunch forever), and I'm desperate to feel less lethargic, etc. Before I pay to go to the doctor I want to see if a change in diet will improve my energy level. We'll see if it makes me feel any better and then I'll make decisions from there on what to do...but my sodium intake has been through the roof lately as has my sugar intake...and I feel absolutely crummy. So wish me luck! It's just a week. And I will miss my friends...had a Cherry Garcia ice cream bar to bid them adieu.

I am home....3,059 miles later (officially) and recovering. I'll be around more as I start to fall back into my routine. I can't wait to share layouts and photos with you but for now I'll share just this one...my heart...the loves of my life!

The One With the Professional Photos

So I really like the pictures that I get of the kids...I have a nice enough camera and enough experience to get decent shots...but now that I have 3 kids I would pull my hair out trying to get a good group photo. So this is the second time I've taken them to Portrait Innovations. I am an instant gratification kind of gal so I really like that they print them in studio! The first set in May turned out pretty good but now that Parker is older this set turned out really well! We are wrapping up our vacation right now...I'm blogging from a hotel in Valdosta GA at the moment...I'm pretty sleepy so I'm headed off to bed but I wanted to share my kiddos with you... :) Have a great weekend bloggers!

The One With Photo Catch-Up

As if I didn't love to scrap enough already...my kids have been extra photogenic during this vacation. I literally have dozens of good photos just waiting for editing right now...so once things calm down I have endless scrapping material! I grabbed a few photos this evening to share...the first two were taken in Clarksville TN where we were visiting my gf Elizabeth.




And this one was the best photo we could get with 5 kids in the photo! Here we were in Memphis visiting my good friend Amber (hi Amber!). Clockwise we have her Owen, my Nathan, my Parker, my Naomi, and her Will. Owen and Parker were due on the same day! We had such a fun visit. Tomorrow we are going to Dino World and I know the kids are really looking forward to it. I notice they are going to bed quite early lately...this vacation is wearing them out! Well that's all from me for now...ttfn!

The One With The Very Exciting News!

The One Where Grease Is The Word

So I meandered over to SSD's blog to participate in the From Our Blog To Yours...and it's a Grease quiz! I was shocked to score 12 of 15 right because I haven't seen that movie in atleast 10 years. So yay for me... ;) You can do the quiz here...

I have to tell you about this really great ice cream I had yesterday. It is Purity's O' Charley's Caramel Pie ice cream. If you've ever had O'Charley's caramel pie you can just imagine the heaven I was in while eating it...It totally gets two thumbs up from me ;)

I'm blogging from Memphis today and am too tired to say much so I think I'll just post the FOBTY and tell you I am having a GREAT time on vacation!

The One With The Dog House

So today I was supposed to be packing for my trip...and instead I scrapped. I just had so many ideas swimming around in my head, I couldn't stop! I could have done five more pages but I had to go to the grocery store....which, for the record, is my least favorite place on earth. But, I did get some photos printed to mail off to David.

I'm having a funky evening because I'm having a spat with David and I got to talk to him on the phone for the first time in 3 weeks...the phone calls are never long enough...this time, about 4 or 5 minutes...and it is hard to enjoy the conversation because in that amount of time we are usually running through the business end of the marriage (Naomi had a doctor's appointment, I paid the phone bill, that sort of thing...) and it doesn't leave much room for a lingering conversation...it stinks. And everyone pray that David makes it out of the doghouse because right now that's where he is...for forgetting my birthday, for one. ;) Poor guy can't catch a break :P

So I'm leaving at 6 a.m. to get the rental car and go pick up Nathan from his dad's.

I have the following things for the kids for the car:

clear juice, fruit snacks
composition notebooks and crayons (back to school sale!)
2 unread paperback books for Nathan
portable DVD player and various DVD's
gameboy and games
mp3 player

If that won't occupy the two of them, nothing will!

The One With Happy Stuff

So first thing is first...I'm participating in Sweet Shoppe's FOBTY and they have asked for me to show a layout that makes me happy. Honestly all of my layouts make me happy but I found this one:


I had Parker just a few days after that picture and the reason it makes me happy is because even though I was SOOO huge!....I was still so happy and content...trying to enjoy the last moments of my very last pregnancy. :)


I scrapped like a MADWOMAN today! I have new material because my brother's girlfriend had a baby yesterday! I did this layout of the new baby:

I'm going to scrap it soon! I love the photo of him...he looks SO proud!



I also did a Parker layout today and a Nathan layout...and if I weren't so tired I'd do some more...just in a scrapping mood!
So that's really all from me...I am going on vacation for two weeks on Monday but I'll still be around....I'm preemptively scrapping en masse to prepare for the lull while I relax with my kiddos for a few weeks :)
